How to Choose Laser Source
At present, according to the laser source, laser marking machine is divided into semiconductor laser marking machine, CO2 laser marking machine, fiber laser marking machine, etc. They have different marking effect for different materials. In general, semiconductor and fiber laser marking machine are suitable for metal, hard plastic and other materials marking. CO2 laser is mainly for non-metallic materials, such as acrylic, transparent plastic, ceramic, glass and so on.
How to choose laser source for marking machine?
Firstly, it depends on what material you want to process. Hardware, plastic, label paper and other materials with long wavelength can be processed by fiber laser marking machine. Bamboo, cloth, ceramics, acrylic and other materials can be processed by a shorter wavelength laser like CO2 laser marking machine. If it is a film, fruit, egg, paper box, reinforced glass and other thermal sensitive material, it can be processed by a moderate wavelength of UV laser marking machine.
Of course, it is not to say that a material is only suitable for one single laser source, the same material can use a variety of laser sources, which depends on the degree of precision of your processing requirements.

If engraving hardware, 20W fiber laser can make it, but you pursue high efficiency and high speed, you will need 30W or higher power to achieve that.
